1. The History of the C Language. The C programming language was devised in the early 1970s by   Dennis M. Ritchie an employee from Bell Labs (AT&T). In the 1960s Ritchie worked, with            several  other employees of Bell Labs (AT&T), on a project called Multics.

2.  C is a high-level and general purpose programming language that is ideal for developing    firmware or portable applications. Originally intended for writing system software, C was    developed at Bell Labs by Dennis Ritchie for the Unix Operating System (OS) in the early 1970s.

3. C was developed at Bell Laboratories in 1972 by Dennis Ritchie. Many of its principles and ideas  were taken from the earlier language B and B's earlier ancestors BCPL and CPL. ... In 1970, Ken Thompson, while working at Bell Labs, took this process further by developing the B language.
